Playing Advanced Repertoire (from Arban to Arutiunian)

Many of us wish to play the shinier pieces in the trumpet repertoire – those that require great endurance, dexterity, and flexibility – but struggle to make meaningful progress on pieces like Carnival of Venice or the big concertos. How do we build a routine that helps us tackle our dream pieces, practice intelligently, and build the skills to get us where we're going? Ethan invites a special guest to help break this down!

Hi Ethan,
Just want to mention Hummel's I movement as another example. It's a "shinier" piece for me and while overall it's a good challenge for my articulation and dynamic control, I hit the wall with the final part (high C arps to the end). Anything above A is hard enough for me to play in a musical context, so with endurance lacking it feels like an uphill battle towards the end of the piece.
I hope it's a fair example as the piece is quite popular.
